WHAT IS MASSAGE THERAPY?
Massage is the manipulation of the superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue (fascia) to enhance the function of the physical body, to relieve pain and built-up tension, as well as promote relaxation and well-being. As an accepted part of physical rehabilitation programs, massage has proven beneficial for many chronic conditions and helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness. Various modalities, techniques and tools are being integrated to provide you with the most effective outcomes. These can e.g. include Trigger Points and Reflexology.
SWEDISH MASSAGE
Swedish Massage was originally developed in Stockholm a couple of centuries ago and is the most common and best-known type of bodywork performed today.
The goal is to relax the entire body, to feel more connected, and to reduce physical and emotional stress. This is accomplished through a soothing style of massage that creates a sense of relaxation and renewed energy. The techniques incorporate rubbing the muscles with long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart, circular pressure applied by hands, palms, and forearms, firm kneading, and stretching.
Swedish Massage is exceptional for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing, muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension and boosting the immune system.
Upon request, hot stones can be integrated into this treatment for small additional charge.
